Cosy up

Nothing beats the warmth of a log burning fire for making you feel cosy. Christmas is the perfect time to cosy up and indulge in some of your favourite food and drink. You can enjoy the warmth of Ashlin Farm Barns both inside and out, by relaxing in your very own hot tub in your private garden for exclusive by your party of 10 where you are able to control the temperature for yourselves. The facilities inside and out mean that you are sure to be warm, even on those winter day and nights. You never know, we could have a white Christmas this year.

To cook or not to cook? That is the question…

Each barn has a large, fully equipped kitchen that means that you can enjoy home-cooking your Christmas dinner and many other indulgent meals over the Christmas period in the comfort of your home from home.

Perhaps you would like a break away from the heat of the kitchen? In which case, you will be pleased to know that our barns are only a 5-mile drive from the historic Cathedral city of Lincoln, where you will be served with a wide range of restaurants and bars helping to get you into the festive spirit, if you aren’t already. From pub grub to fine dining, Lincoln creates the perfect modern, yet historical backdrop for your food adventures.

All you need is the mistletoe, as Lincoln has the wine. Alike our restaurants, Lincoln’s bar and pub scene is thriving, especially at this festive time of year.

Christmas decorations

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without decorations. We take true pride in creating a Christmas atmosphere within each of our barns and thoroughly enjoy the preparation in making your Christmas so special. By all means, feel free to bring along your own decorations too, to really make your barn feel like your very own Christmas sanctuary.

Walking

Perhaps you would like to embark on a Christmas walk to walk off the mince pies or to take in the beautiful winter nature and scenery around you? We have plenty of walks to offer, for all walks of life. We aren’t short of wildlife around us and see many robins during the winter period.

Exploring

If you can bear to take yourself away from the comfort of your home in the wintery months, there are plenty of things to do in Lincoln.

Christmas Market:

The famous Lincoln Christmas Market is taking place Thursday 6th December to Sunday 9th December 2018. People travel far and wide to enjoy the festivities that come with The Christmas Market. More than 280 stalls will be showcased at the event, as well as entertainment. The Lincoln Christmas Market is a wonderful place to soak up the drinks, food and festive cheer. Still looking for gifts? The market is almost guaranteed to have something special.

Christmas Lights:

The Christmas lights were switched on on the 23rd November and for many this symbolises the start of Christmas. The event saw live entertainment and the Mayor of Lincoln, Civic Party, Amelia Lilly, Barney Harwood and Chris Johnson switching on the lights. When walking around Lincoln, look up and take in the festive magic of the lights.

Carols By Candlelight:

Christmas Carols will be sure to get you in the Christmas spirit. Come along to The Lincoln Cathedral on 19th December 2018 7:30pm to 9:30pm. The Lincoln Cathedral Choir will be performing an evening of Christmas Carols. So why not pop along and have a sing along, or just listen to the angelic voices?

Lincoln Loves Kids

Lincoln really does have something for everyone. The City is children friendly, with the new arrival of ‘Lincoln Loves Kids’. As the name would suggest, Lincoln really does love kids and has several activities on offer to show this.

A time for togetherness

We understand that your lives are busy and you may not spend as much time with your loved ones as you would like, that is why we provide you with the perfect haven. Each barn fully caters for 10 people, meaning that you are in an intimate yet spacious setting, close enough to be with your loved ones, but still providing you with your own space.

As gifts are exchanged at this precious time, why not give your family the biggest gift of all? Quality time together away from ordinary life.

The New Year

We are excited to embark on another year here at Ashlin Farms Barns. Our New Year’s resolution is to put even more smiles on people’s faces. What is your New Year’s resolution?
