After exploring the boutiques and gift shops in the Bailgate area, try one of the many attractive cafes and coffee shops there such as Sanctuary, another quirky place with a cafe inside a gift shop.
At the bottom of Steep Hill there is Margaret’s Tea Rooms where you can enjoy a delicious traditional afternoon tea served on china plates.
As you make your way nearer to the busy shopping High Street, call in at the Rising Cafe, a great place with a unique choice of traditional English, American or Mexican afternoon tea and a special mini tea for children. Gluten free options available.
If you are enjoying the vibrant Brayford Waterfront area and a more contemporary setting is your thing, go up to the fifth floor of the Hilton hotel overlooking the waterfront to the Electric Bar and Restaurant where you can order a delicious afternoon tea served with a pot of tea or glass of Prosecco.
